Tie Clips
There are 4 versions of necktie accessory to hold your tie in place: tie bars, tie clips, tie pins, and tie chains. There are many different choices with regard to shape, length or material of this necktie accessory that will also help you to change your overall appearance.
Tie Bars
The tie bar (aka tie slide) is a sleek piece of metal that is slid across the middle part of the silk tie in order to attach the tie to a shirt. Babette Wasserman offers a range of luxury tie bars with crystal detail. Likewise titanium tie bars are available from Ti2 Titanium.
Tie Clips
A tie clip (aka tie clasp) is similar in function to the tie bar. Instead of sliding it across the silk tie, it is clipped horizontally across the tie, and is then attached to the shirt.
Tie Pins
The tie pin (aka tie tack) differs in form and function from the tie bar and tie clip. A tie pin is made of two parts. To wear a tie pin, remove the pin from its base, then pierce through the silk tie, connect the base to the pin again and then slip the metal weight and chain through one of the shirt button holes.
Tie Chains
The fixed upper part of the tie chain (the bar) is hooked to one of the buttons of the shirt and the tie is then put through the chain's loop so that the bar is hidden behind the tie and the chain is visible in the front. This holds the silk tie in place.
