Gillette
Gillette, a company from P&G, is a world renowned leader in grooming equipment both electric and disposable.
Gillette razors are of world class quality and are the recommended choice by many luxury razor manufacturers such as Truefitt and Hill and Edwin Jagger. It is the successor of The Gillette Company, which was founded by King C. Gillette in 1901 as a safety razor manufacturer. It was based in Boston Massachusetts,United States.
On October 1 2005, Procter & Gamble finalized its purchase of The Gillette Company. As a result of this merger, the Gillette Company no longer exists. Its last day of market trading – symbol G on the New York Stock Exchange - was September 30, 2005. The merger created the world's largest personal care and household products company.
In July 2007, Global Gillette was dissolved and incorporated into Procter & Gamble's other two main divisions, Procter & Gamble Beauty and Procter & Gamble Household Care. Gillette's brands and products were divided between the two accordingly.
Mach 3 has been a signature product for Gillette, with many variations of the product; this is the favored blade by many prestigious razor producers. More recently the current product group from Gillette is the Fusion range. It was launched in 2007 its unique selling point being the five blades that give the closest shave with minimal strokes, reducing irritation of the skin. This collection of razors has now been endorsed by top sportsmen, Roger Federer, Thierry Henry and Tiger Woods.
